16th Annual AMICA Insurance Try Andy's Tri, a "sprint" triathlon. This is a premier short-course triathlon with great support. A 300-meter straight, wide, point-to-point swim in First Colony Lake next to transition/ 10-mile bike on a safe, divided four-lane boulevard with plenty of police protection/ 3-mile shaded neighborhood run around the lake with water stations. October weather is normally pleasantly cool, but not cold. Last year was 65 degrees air temperature. Field limit is 850 this year, our largest ever. One-fourth of the field are first-timers, as well as hundreds of multi-year returnees. ALL ages 9-80 are welcome. So far, ages 9-72 have registered. Must be annual USAT member for $39 at www.usatriathlon.org (preferred), or purchase a one-day $10 USAT license at packet pickup. Annual membership for 17-and-under youths is only $5!!! Ages 17-and-under are HALF-PRICE. Bring USAT card and photo ID to pick up your packet in person if annual member. Please practice open water swimming beforehand to be safe. Tri time limit of 2 hours, 20 minutes.
The majority of our entrants are local...Houston, Sugar Land, Missouri City, and Katy comprise the majority of the field. However, FIVE states are currently represented.
