About This Event
The 5 Kilometer (3.1 Mile) course loops through quiet residential neighborhoods and is basically flat. For map see the website www.goodrace.com. Baby joggers/strollers allowed in WALK ONLY. NO DOGS. Please DO NOT register children who will be in strollers as they do not need numbers and will not be timed.

Awards, prizes, other goodies
There will be random drawings for turkeys including a ready to eat deluxe turkey dinner for registered runners and walkers. Turkeys will be awarded to the first Male & Female overall in the 5K Run. Age group winners in the 5K Run will receive special hand thrown pottery mugs. The Eugene Running Company will provide other random drawing prizes including gift certificates. The first 1,200 registrants receive Burger King coupons good for their choice of breakfast sandwich, apple fries, or side salad. Those 1,200 are also guaranteed a sweet holiday treat. Long-sleeved T-shirts are 100% high quality cotton. Please note Youth size shirts may not be same color as adult sizes.
Timing
Each entrant will receive a race bib with an electronic
chip on paper backing in a pouch on the back of the number. The race number must be worn on the chest. The card with the chip on it should be removed from the
pouch after crossing the finish line and placed in an orange bucket for recycling. Keep your number for the
random prize drawing. Time is still based on gun time.
Parking
There is limited parking in the front and back lots at Splash, Lively Park Swim Center. If using these areas, please wait until at least 9:25 a.m. to leave because there is only one way in or out to the swim center from Thurston Road and we would like to give slower walkers a clear path to the finish line. There is off street parking in the neighborhood, but please be courteous and do not block driveways. Please don't park on the north side of Thurston Road as there is a bike lane on that side and you may receive a ticket.
Registration:
There is NO service fee for registering. Registration deadline is Noon, November 24, 2009.
Waiver and Release
I know that a road race/walk/wheelchair event is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and participate in this event unless I am medically able and properly trained and have sufficient stamina to safely and successfully complete this event without harm or injury to myself. In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, waive, release and discharge any and all rights and claims for damages against the race director and designated race officials, The Good Race, the Municipalities and Counties wherein the event takes place and all participating sponsors and supporters, officers, employees and agents of such parties for all claims of damages, demands, actions, whatsoever in any manner arising or resulting from any authorized such expenses. I grant permission to all of the foregoing the use of any photographs, motion pictures, recording, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I, also, understand that the entry fee is nonrefundable. I have read the entry information provided and certify my compliance by my submission of this entry. If entry is for a minor, I further certify that I am the parent and/or guardian of said minor. If paying by credit card I further authorize the processing of same.
