About This Event
The Canalway Classic is a certified, point to point, 5K ruh along the restored Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail. The race is mostly down hill, flat, and shady & is the site of many 5K PR's. In 2009 we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the race, the 100th anniversary of Nickles Bakery, and the 200th anniversary of the Stark County. Come join in the celebration!
Here's What Runners Have Said About the Canalway Classic Race:
One of my all time favorites to run…as long as I’m still able to run, I’ll be there.--Bob

The Canalway Classic is a beautiful setting, and the course is fun because it’s downhill and flat(a runner’s dream). It was extremely well organized…I do look forward to participating in the race again.--Sharon of Malvern, OH

I love your race – it is my favorite race of the season. The course is great, it's fast, shaded and out of traffic.--Jennifer of Orrville, OH

I think it’s a great race. I look forward to it every year--Bruce

I ran the race with my 7 year old since he wanted to do it, and the downhill or flat route seemed ideal for younger runners--Jeremiah of Akron

I really enjoyed the race – it is one of the best that I have been to!--Brian

…I liked running on the limestone trail rather than the pavement--Tina of N Canton
