About This Event
This powerful, educational seminar will help members of the caregiver community further develop their knowledge and skills in helping the bereaved. Dr. Alan Wolfelt will explore a variety of subtopics related to understanding and supporting survivors of sudden, unexpected deaths. Specific content areas include: introduction to 'complicated' grief, special features of suicide grief, homicide grief, and enhancing understanding of trauma loss. This seminar is suitable for physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, educators, psychologists, hospice personnel, clergy, lay ministers, chaplains, and those caring for bereaved people.

About the Presenter
Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt is a noted author, educator, and grief counselor. Recipient of the Association for Death Education and Counseling's "Death Educator Award", he serves as the Director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colorado. A frequent guest of the media, Dr. Wolfelt has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Larry King Show, the NCB Today Show, and Nick News. He is the author of more than twenty books on grief and loss.
Seminar Schedule
Registration & Continental Breakfast: 8:30am. Morning Session: 9:00 - 11:30am. Lunch: 11:30am - 12:15pm. Afternoon Session: 12:15 - 3:00pm
Continuing Education Units/Continuing Education Hours
Participants will be awarded .45 Continuing Education Units/5.4 Continuing Education Hours through the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Office of Continuing Education and Extension. Certificates will be available at the conclusion of the seminar. Funeral Directors will earn 5.0 hours in category 1 through the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.
