About This Event
Come celebrate Memorial Day in this 11th annual event.INDIVIDUALS OR TEAMS. Choose from a TRIATHLON: 250 meter swim, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run or DUATHLON: 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run. KIDS MINI-TRI (13 under): 25 yard swim or wade, 3/4 mile bike, 1/4 mile run. Enjoy lots of postrace food and quality awards.
TRI SWIM is in small man-made lake water temperature around 65. Wetsuits are recommended but not required. BIKE: is out and back on paved, scenic country roads, all flat with only a couple turns. RUN: also out and back on first part of bike course. Also flat with an Aide station at the turnaround. DU: Both RUNS are out and back, flat. The BIKE course same as the triathlon. KIDS MINI-TRI: swim or wade is shallow water. Bike and run is on paved bike paths in the park. Note: Kids race at 1:45 p.m.
Top 7 overall, male and female in the triathlon will receive Memorial Day trophies. Top 3 in 5 year divisions will receive special Memorial Day Neck Medals. Top 5 in the Duathlon both male and female will also receive trophies. Top 3 in 5 year age groups receive neck medals. All kids in the mini-tri will receive neck medals. Also team divisions of male, female and co-ed in the triathlon and duathlon. NOTE: If you don't receive an age group award you receive a finishers award.
T-shirts & Extra Garments
All entrants will receive a designer Memorial Day Triathlon/Duathlon short sleeve shirt. You can also order an extra short sleeve shirt, tank top,longsleeve shirt and sweatshirt. All Garments are 100 percent cotton and are preshrunk. Sizes are small, medium, large and extra large.
Postrace Food & Results
After the race enjoy lots of postrace food such as ham, turkey cheese and roast beef sandwiches. There will also be lots of cookies, donuts, crackers, chips, etc. Cold bottled water will also be available along with gatorade and soda. RESULTS: will be available after the race is finished and be posted at www.ontherun.com, www.racecenter.com.
From the NORTH take I-5 to Olympia and follow Hwy 101 north. Follow to Hwy 8 and go west towards the ocean. Take the 2nd Elma exit and go left over the freeway. Turn right on Wenzelslough road. Park is on the right. From the SOUTH take I-5 to Exit 88B (Aberdeen) and go west on Hwy 12 through Rochester, Oakville, Porter and Malone. Upon entering Elma turn left onto Hwy 8 and take the next exit. Go left over the freeway and turn right on Wenzelslough Road.
Kids race: 3-13 Adults: 11-13,14-15,16-19,20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 up.
