About This Event

James E. McNellie’s Public House and Red Coyote in Oklahoma City are pleased to present the 1st Annual James E. McNellie’s OKC Pun Run, a run for runners and beer aficionados alike. The rolling 4 mile course will start and finish at McNellie’s and wind through Heritage Hills and Mesta Park neighborhoods. All participants over the age of 21 will receive 1 free beer and non-alcoholic options will be available. The 4 mile race will be electronically times. You must wear a timing device in the event in order to be in the results. Please follow instructions provided with the timing device.


A special category for those walkers and runners who would like to drink their beer before the race is over! Guinness Challenge participants will have to FINISH three 12 ounce pints during the 4 mile run; two during the run and one at the finish line.


The race will be held Saturday afternoon May 14, 2011 at 11:30 AM. The Fun Run will start at 11:40 AM. Race day registration will open at 9:30 AM right outside of McNellie’s. The start and finish of the race will be in front of McNellie’s Pub at 10th and Walker.


All entries will receive a short sleeve cotton shirt. Pint glasses will be awarded to overall male and female winners and standard age group winners.


Packet pick-up will begin on Tuesday May 10th at Red Coyote, 5800 North Classen Boulevard #1. You may also pick up your packet at McNellie’s the day of the race. Make checks payable to McNellie’s Pub Run. On-line registration ends May 8, 2011.

Waiver and Release
I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I also know that although police protection will be provided there will be a possibility of traffic on the course. I assume the risk of running in traffic. I also assume any and all other risks associated with running this event including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity and the conditions of the roads, all risks being known and appreciated by me. Furthermore, I agree to yield to all emergency vehicles. I am also fully aware that baby strollers and wheels of any king (except competitive wheelchairs), animals and headphones are strictly prohibited and I agree not to have them on the course. Furthermore I agree not to go back on to the course after finishing. Knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive and release and discharge any and all race sponsors, race officials, volunteers. local and state police including any and all of their agents, employees , assigns, or anyone acting for or on their behalf form any and all claims or liability for death, personal injury, or property damage of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of , or in course of my participating in this event whether same be caused by negligence or fault. This release and waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature whatsoever, foreseen or unforeseen. The undersigned further grants permission to sponsors and/or agents authorized by them to use any photos, video tapes, motion pictures, or any other record of this event for any purpose. Minors accepted only with parent or guardians’ signature. No refunds. No makeup rain date. Shirt size not guaranteed.
