Directions to the event
From I-5 exit 253 (Salem/Detroit Lake exit) take Highway 22 east for 30 miles until you reach the town of Gates. Turn right (south) onto Horeb Rd. and road veers left and cross the bridge then you reach Gates School Road. Turn right (west) and drive 1 mile to a split in the road and go straight here. Follow paved road which turns left and pavement ends and becomes gravel road. This is now Monument Peak road. Drive 1.1 miles up and turn right on Xmas Tree Road. Drive .3 miles to Santiam Horse Camp. SIGNS WILL BE POSTED! Carpooling is encouraged!
About This Event
2ND ANNUAL EVENT! New this year will be a 10 mile trail Run mostly on Single Track Trails mixed with some Logging Roads! Amazing views, challenging terrain and several small creek crossings make up this beautiful first ever trail run at Oregon Dept of Forestry’s Monument Peak! Course begins by running a mile out and on to a short trail section then back through the start/finish area to allow runners to spread out a bit, offer a drop bag area and eliminate any bottlenecking, then its on to the trails! Course has been measured several times using GPS. There will be one Aid Station located about half way on the course featuring Heed Electrolyte and Water. See website for complete details including photos, confirmed entrants, course map, elevation chart and directions! Dogs are always welcome. NO jogging strollers allowed!
Race Start Time
Trail run begins at 9:00AM NO early start!
Registration/Packet Pick-up
Online signup continues to April 19th or until event caps out at 250 participants which ever comes first. If needed there will be day of race registration starting at 7:30 AM the morning of the event. Packet Pick-up will be at the registration area beginning at 7:30 AM
Entry Fees
Monument Peak 10 Mile Trail Run/Walk $15 (Preregistered before April 19th) or $20 (Day of Race) SORRY, NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS! *LIMITED TO 250 PARTICIPANTS!*
Time Limit
There is really no time limit on this course! We encourage both runners and walkers to come enjoy this event! All abilities welcome!
Post-Race Party
Join us for post race festivities which will include food, music, refreshments, awards and prizes and lots of fun.
Awards
Awards ceremony will begin shortly after the race. Unique handmade awards for the Top 3 overall Male and Female Finishers and first place age group winners! Random prizes will be given away from our sponsors.

Camping
Camping is available at the start/finish area! Santiam Horse Camp is a primitive area with no electricity, but has restrooms and a hand pump for drinking water. Several first come first served camp sites with picnic tables and firepits available. Small camping fee required. We will be setting up camp on friday before the event and will host a campfire complete with music, snacks and refreshments! We hope you can join us!

Waiver and Release
OFFICIAL WAIVER: I know that running a trail race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run/walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather and the conditions of the trail, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of acceptance of my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Run Wild Adventures, Road Runners Club of America, Oregon Department of Forestry, BLM and its commission, members, officers, agents, employees and any and all persons, sponsors and entities, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation even though said liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission for all of the foregoing to use any photographs, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
