What is the Jedermann Gran Fondo?

The Jedermann Gran Fondo is a chip timed 112 mile cycling ride and cycling festival that will start and finish in Cheney, WA. The course will visit the back roads and farming communities of Sprague, Tokio, Harrington, Edwall and back to Cheney. Where no rider has ventured before...well, not exactly.

In Europe, timed recreational events have been around for decades and each country has a different name for them. In Germany they’re called “Jedermann Rennen” which translates to “Everyone’s Race". In Italy they call it a “Gran Fondo” which translates to “Great Ride”.

How does a 2-Person Relay Team work? If you aren't quite up to 112 miles...grab a good buddy!
2-Person Team: (Buddy system)
From Cheney, Rider #1 rides the first half of the ride to Tokio, approx. 50 miles. Rider #2 drives a vehicle to Tokio via I-90 to meet Rider #1. At Tokio, Rider #1 takes the car keys from Rider #2 and hands off the chip/bib number to Rider #2. Rider #1 drives the vehicle back in to Cheney via I-90. Rider #2 rides remaining mileage (62 miles) back in to Cheney.
The relay team is responsible for driving to Tokio to meet Rider #1, swapping bib/chips and driving back in to Cheney.
