Directions to the event
From South Salem I-5 take Hwy 22 east 5 miles and turn on Hwy 214 Silver Falls Hwy. Follow Hwy 214 for 16 miles to park entrance on right. From Portland go south I-5 to Woodburn Exit #271 and follow signs to Hwy 214 into Silverton. From North Salem head east on Silverton Rd. NE/Hwy 213 into Silverton. Then From Silverton head out South Water St./Hwy 214 , for 16 miles to "Silver Falls Howard Creek Equestrian" park entrance on the left and look for event signs! Proceed past fee booth and go left to event area. "Day use and parking fee included in entry" Carpooling and use of an all wheel drive vehicle is strongly encouraged due to the possibility of snow and ice on the road!
About This Event
4th annual event! Very scenic single and double track equestrian trails around the Silver Falls Howard Creek Horse area. Challenging 6.5 mile loop course on Buck Mt. Loop and Smith Creek trails with some significant elevation gain and loss. Expect very muddy conditions and possible snow as well! You will be a filthy mess after this event! Be prepared for tons of slippery mud and standing water on the course! Course will be well marked. Dogs are always welcome. This is the largest State Park in Oregon with over 9000 acres of spectacular scenery and over 25 miles of multi-use trails! Course map and elevation chart are available on the website!
Race Start Time
Event begins at 9:00AM (No early start)
Registration/Packet Pick-up
Online registration closes 8pm on Thursday March 7th! Packet Pick-up will be at the start/finish area starting at 7:30AM day of race.
Entry Fees
Buck Mt Mudslinger Run/Walk $18 Pre Entry | $25 Day of Race *ENTRY FEES INCLUDE OPRD DAY USE AND PARKING FEE* SORRY, NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS! Limited to 300 Participants!
Time Limit
There is really no time limit on this course! We encourage both runners and walkers alike to come enjoy this beautiful park and participate!
Restrooms
The start/finish area will have several restrooms. No restrooms on the course
Post-Race Party
Join us for post race festivities which will include food, country music, awards/prizes, refreshments/Beer and lots of fun. Remember the COWBOY theme and sport those cowboy hats and wrangler cut-offs for a chance to win prizes
Results/Photos/Timing
Official results will be posted online within 24 hours. Several photographers will be around the course capturing all the action! Computer based timing provided by Run Wild Adventures. This is a non chip timed event!
Awards
Awards ceremony will begin shortly after the race. Unique handmade awards for the Top 3 overall Male and Female Finishers and first place age group winners! Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Also awards for "BEST DRESSED UP COWBOY and COWGIRL PARTICIPANTS!" Random prizes will be given away from our sponsors.

OFFICIAL WAIVER: I know that running a trail race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run/walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather and the conditions of the trail, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of acceptance of my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Run Wild Adventures, Road Runners Club of America, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and its commission, members, officers, agents, employees and any and all persons, sponsors and entities, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation even though said liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission for all of the foregoing to use any photographs, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
