About This Event
This 1K and 5K course will begin and end at the Galveston County Daily News facility. The 5K course will go up the Galveston Causeway, turn around, and come back the same route. The race will be chip timed. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in all categories. All participants will be eligible for door prizes. Teams are Encouraged! Minimum of 6 members

UTMB Health and the School of Health Professions in partnership with fitTRIrun is hosting the “SHP Causeway FunD Run/Walk.” This event benefits SHP student scholarships and represents a powerful investment in the future of health care for our region and state. We invite you to participate in this event to help provide scholarships for the many talented students in the School of Health Professions.

Event Shirts
Participants who register by February 7th will receive a race tech shirt.
Parking information
Parking is across the street from the Start/Finish at the Galveston Daily News and Texas A&M Lot. Additional Parking will be available at the Galveston College Vocational Training Lot location at 7626 Broadway. Be advised parking is very limited and therefore carpooling is highly suggested! Waiver and Release
WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT In consideration of your accepting this entry, I, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for myself, my family, my heirs, executors, & administrators, forever waive, release and discharge any and all rights & claims for damages and causes of suit or action, known or unknown, that I may have against the UTMB Heath School of Health Professions, The City of Galveston, Texas Department of Transportation, The Galveston Daily News, and Galveston County and all other political entities, all independent contractors and construction firms working on or near the course, all SHP FunD Run Event committee persons, officials and volunteers and their officers, directors, employees, & all sponsors of the event , & the related race events & their officers, directors, employees, agents & representatives, successors, & assigns for any and all injuries suffered by me in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and am aware of the dangers & precautions that must be taken when running in warm or cold conditions, & have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event. I also agree to abide by any decision of an appointed medical official relative to my ability to safely continue or complete the event. I further assume and will pay my own medical & emergency expenses in the event of an accident, illness, or other incapacity regardless of whether I have authorized such expense. Further, I hereby grant full permission to the UTMB School of Health Professions and/or agents hereby authorized by them to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recording or any record of this event for any legitimate purpose at any time. I further understand that there are no entry refunds, exchanges, transfers or rollovers and the event may be cancelled due to any of the following reasons; among others, including, city orders, weather conditions, natural disasters, or the threat to local and/or national security including suspected terrorist activity. I have read this waiver carefully & understand it. Applications for minors accepted only with parent or guardian’s signature.
