If running or walking isn’t really your thing, or if you have prior commitments (boo!), no worries; you can still support the cause and become a Virtual Runner. That’s right! Simply order a FULL HEART T-shirt, volunteer to help with the event, set yourself up along the course to cheer on the athletes, and/or just make a donation! To volunteer to help with the event, please email email@example.com. We could use a few people that would rather sit still, than move---you know who you are! Fans can cheer from any point along the course!
Additional amounts above and beyond the fees for the race will be welcomed using any of the following methods:
1. Including more than the stated fee with your registration
2. Directly on race day at check-in
3. Directly at any Bank of Oklahoma to WALK AGAIN
4. Via the PayPal link on the website,
5. Drive to Reno, hand it to Shan
>>>> You better pack a lunch!

Get there early to check in and get your wrist-band—all the cool kids will be wearing them! A festive, heart-pumping, blood-warming, pre-race warm-up will be conducted at the start line at 8:45 am. Get there early to take part in what is sure to get your mind & body ready to run your heart out! The FULL HEART 5K will begin promptly at 9:00 am. The 1 Mile Fun Run (& stroller derby) will begin at 9:10 am.
Shot-gun start---get out of the way!
T-SHIRT & PACKET PICK-UP
T-shirts & race packets may be picked up at the finish line. There will be no early packet pick-up.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The race will be held on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OK (2501 E. Memorial Road Edmond, OK 73013) beginning on Campus Drive.
The start & finish lines will be near the FORUM on the East side of the Biblical Studies Building.
The 5K will be a loop and the 1 Mile Fun Run will be a “down-&-back”. There will be 1 water stop at ~1/2 way point of the 5K. Watch for chalk lines and signs to guide you through the course! Restrooms will be available in just about every building on campus.
Parking will be available pretty much all over campus, but the nearest lot is located beside the Biblical Studies building & the Garvey Center.
This is NOT a USATF sanctioned event and will NOT be an official, professionally timed event. In fact, you’ll be lucky to get an approximate, sorta-kinda right, mostly accurate timing result.
The FULL HEART 5K distance is certified by DG Productions. This is your chance to beat your PR---go for it! The 1 Mile Fun Run distance is not certified as accurate by anyone official, but it’s definitely close enough to get your full heart beating---go for it!
All athletes & stroller riders who do not have a signed waiver turned in prior to the start of the race will be unable to participate.
First-Aid will be on-site and available to all participants & volunteers during the entire event.
Participants are strongly encouraged to form teams, dress FESTIVELY or in BRIGHT, CHEERY attire, and decorated strollers will not be turned away!
Take part in the festive and energetic pre-race warm-up session to be held at the start line at 8:45 am!
Encouraging signs, cheering fans, and even a live band will be along the course to help motivate and inspire runners and walkers to stay strong and never give up. After all, we are all coming together to be reminded of God’s love for us, His almighty healing power, and the kindness of fellow man.
Post-race refreshments (& hopefully massages!) will be available near the finish line.
There won’t be any. Hopefully, the participants will receive an even better reward by knowing you have helped someone in need. Yea for us!
Friends and family who organized this event would love to see this become an annual race to help Shan with the expense of yearly maintenance visits back to the clinic in Reno, NV, and to help other patients in the mid-age’d population who are sometimes forgotten, as well. We aren’t sure if we’ll take applications from families in need, or if we’ll just hand off the reigns of this already organized event to the next family ready to accept this blessing. Shan has been so blessed through this journey that we just want it to continue so that others may be blessed as well.
Thank you all from the bottom of our FULL HEARTs from Shan & the race committee. Your support is greatly treasured and prayerfully appreciated. Now, let’s get out the there and run our hearts out!
