About This Event

The race Sold Out for 2013. We will look for a larger venue next year. Thank you!

The Turkey Trot is a family-friendly 5K Run/Walk or 10K Run along the beautiful Salmon Creek Trail, starting and ending at Klineline Pond in Vancouver, WA. The race always happens on Thanksgiving morning at 9:00am. We are back in 2013 with a fabulous race planned for Thanksgiving Morning. All proceeds will support the Clark County Food Bank, helping them pursue the mission of "alleviating hunger and its root causes." We love the work that the food bank does and are proud to have ALL proceeds go to hunger relief efforts in Clark County. You can make a difference in thousands of lives throughout our community!

Race Information
All races start at 9:00am on Thanksgiving morning. Registration is limited to 1200 participants and sign-ups will close at midnight on November 22nd, or when/if we reach the race maximum. There will be NO day-of-race registration this year. We will be having a packet/shirt/bib pick-up the day before the race on Wednesday the 27th from 3pm-7pm at the Clark County Food Bank (you’ll get all those details in an email after you register).

All races, regardless of distance or age of participant, cost $25/person and include an official Turkey Trot 2013 shirt (100% cotton, kids and adult sizes), race bib, and other amenities. You must register by November 12th at midnight to be guaranteed a shirt.

More than just a 5K or 10K race, the Turkey Trot is a tradition of celebration on Thanksgiving morning. For some it’s an excuse to eat an extra piece of pie later in the day! For all it is about being together, and helping the community. The course is not designed for you to have the fastest race time of your life. It is designed for fun, connection, and encouragement! In addition to the race itself, you’ll experience lots of post-race food (coffee, bagels, donuts, bananas, etc.), the annual piñata for kids, and the infamous Polar Bear Swim into Klineline Pond!

Polar Bear Swim
It’s back again! Every year, a few brave folks jump into the icy waters of Klineline Pond. This annual event happens right at 10:00am, after most racers have finished. Participation is optional of course, and there is no registration required. Just bring a towel and change of clothes!

Costume Prizes
This year we have decided to give out PRIZES for the most creative and wacky Thanksgiving outfits. We look forward to seeing you and your family in fun costumes. We cannot wait to see what you think up!

  • Mile marker signs are placed throughout both 5K and 10K events at exact distances
  • Water at start/finish and 10K turnaround
  • Full race details will be sent out in an email for all who register

Food For the Community
The race benefits the Clark County Food Bank. During registration, you may choose to donate more than the $25 race cost. Many people do, and this money will go straight to helping hungry people in our community get food. You may also want to bring non-perishable food to the packet pick-up on the 27th (day before the race). All this is optional of course, but truly appreciated.

We need about 75 volunteers to make this race happen – everything from people who hand out donuts, mark the race course, help with t-shirt sorting, and more. Interested? We need you. Send an email to: Volunteer
Who are you registering?
Please select which event you will be participating in: (Registration includes race shirt)*

After November 12th!
You are no longer guaranteed a race shirt past this date. We will be ordering lots of extra shirts so there is still a good chance you will get one but we are not able to promise them. Registration is still open though and you will receive all of the other perks: chip timing, a race bib, and a racer goody bag. Should you choose not to register and just to come on the day of the race then you will still be able to run just without any of the above mentioned items. Hope to see you all out there!
