About This Event37th annual running of 10K (8:30am) & 5K (9:30am) run or walk thru residential streets. The START and FINISH are at Forest Hills School, 5020 Central. Donations made on the registration form go directly to Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Bear Necessities is a national organization whose mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer, and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it.
A bigger race with hometown style. This is a CARA Certified Race.
START and FINSH information
The START and FINISH are at Forest Hills School, 5020 Central. Signs on Race Day will direct you to START. Parking in church lots near 51st & Wolf roads.
From Wolf Road & Ogden Avenue - Go South on Wolf Rd to 51st ST. Parking allowed in the church parking lots along Wolf Rd from 51st to 53rd St. Once parked walk west to Forest Hills School, 5020 Central by following signs.
Race Day Packet Pick Up
Beginning at 7:00 am - pick up packet with race number, t-shirt, Chrono Track, and goodie bag at Forest Hills School, 5020 Central. The race START and FINISH are at the same location. Follow directions for attaching your race number/chrono track.
Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up
Prior to Race Day on May 24, race packets with race number, t-shirt, Chrono Track and goodie bag can be picked up at the WS Recreation Center, 1500 Walker at the follow days/times only:
Wednesday, May 21, Noon-4:00pm;
Thursday, May 22, 9:00am to 8:00pm
Friday, May 23, 9:00am-4:00pm.
The WS Recreation Center is 5 blocks west of Wolf Rd along Hillgrove - follow the little brown signs. Call 708-246-9070 if needed.
Awards, Food, Water, Raffle
Standard Male & Female age categories (5 yr increments over age 14), Water Stations along routes, lots of food/drink at FINISH area, raffle prizes (winners must be present).
Donations to Bear Necessities
Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation - is dedicated to fight against pediatric cancer by improving the quality of life for pediatric cancer patients and their families while furthering the advancements in research. See entry form for donation. Thank you for your interest and support. The Recreation Department/Tower Trot race purchases services, support, publicity, and in-kind donations to Bear Necessities.
Who are you registering?
Reduced fee for children 14 & under in the 5K race only.
One of the pull down choices you have is for Children 14 & under. The reduced fee is $20.00 and is for the 5K race only (start time 9:30 am). This is considered a full registration and participants receive all the same items and privileges as older participants.
Fun Run (children under 10 years old) - less than a mile.
A Fun Run for children under 10 years of age is held and starts at 8:45 am with a distance less than one mile. Registration for this event is not available thru this website. Please use registration form available through the Recreation Dept.
Waiver and Release
I recognize and acknowldege that there are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume the full risk, including death, damages or loss which I may sustain as a result of participating in the Village of Western Springs Annual Tower Trot. I agree to waive and relinquish any and all claims I may have arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated wiht the race. I do hereby fully release and discharge the Village of Western Springs and its officers, agents and employees, and Bear Necessities volunteers, from any and all claims from injuries. I further agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend the Village of Western Springs and its officers, agents, and employees, and Bear Necessities volunteers from any claims.
