On Your Marks...! Get Set...Go!
Seward Parks & Recreation is proud to start your race season with our 23rd annual Polar Bear Pink Cheeks Triathlon. Pink Cheeks is open to all ages and ability levels. The race consists of a 5K run, 10K bike and 600 yd pool swim in that order. Sign up as a team or compete as a solo in this popular Seward event. Race terrain includes city streets, gravel roads and inclines as you run and bike through the city limits. Save your strength for the swim (12 laps) in the High School pool. Check out the course on our website (when becomes available). Early swim times are available prior to race, must be able to swim 12 laps in 15min or under. Call 224-4011 or email sprd@cityofseward.net to set up time. Following the triathlon, join us for a burger hot off the grill. Register early to reserve a spot in this year’s race. See you at the starting line! Our Sponsors: The Seward Polar Bear Association www.sewardak.org/news-events/polarbear.htm The volunteers at Seward Polar Bear Festival support family & youth events and healthy activities. Think of them as you support other non-profits, and consider a donation. Each January, crazy loveable folks jump into Resurrection Bay to raise money for cancer research. Money raised at the now-famous auction goes to kids on the Kenai fighting cancer. Thanks, Polar Bear Festival Association!
