Benefiting Eden Medical Center’s Trauma Center, Run to the Lake provides something for everyone; an out and back paved 5K run/walk, a beautiful 10K course that winds along the rolling west trail of Lake Chabot, a free outdoor Health Expo, the Kids Dash for ages 3-8, music, and much more! ONLINE REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES REGISTRATION, MAILBACK OF BIB #, TIMING CHIP AND RACE DAY INFO. In addition to the entry fee, there is a small processing fee per online entry - which will be listed prior to paying.
Both courses run from Eden Medical Center to Lake Chabot and back. The 5K course is an out and back on paved surfaces. The 10K course winds along the rolling west trail of beautiful Lake Chabot, with paved and trail surfaces.
The electronic chip will come with your bib number with instructions on how and where to affix the chip to your shoe for the timing process. Overall runners will be scored by Gun/Horn time, Age Division Winners will be scored by Chip time.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall Men and Women in the 5K and 10K. Awards will also be presented to the top three Masters Men and Women in the 5K & 10K. These prizes will be awarded from the stage at approximately 9:15 a.m.
5K/10K Awards will be presented 3 deep in men's and women's categories: 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & up and for Wheelchairs (5K) only.
This division recognizes the services provided to our communities by First Responders (current and retired employees of safety departments, i.e. police, sheriffs, fire, ambulance, paramedics, etc). Awards will be presented to the top three men and women in the First Responders Division for both the 5K and 10K.

Winners of this division will be announced on Monday, July 14th on the Eden Medical Center’s Run To The Lake website and the awards will be mailed. Starting at 9:30 a.m., kids ages 3-8 will have their own non-competitive 50-100 yard course. Everyone is a winner and each participant will receive a t-shirt, finisher ribbon, and goody bag.
Hours are 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Join Eden Medical Center staff and physicians at Eden’s annual Health Expo! The Health Expo is open to the entire community, runners and non-runners alike. This festive event offers free health information, health screenings, music, free goodies and refreshments.
Early Bird Online Registration Fee of $30 for the 5K/10K and $11 for the Kids Dashes cut-off is Thursday, July 10th at 11:00 PM. Friends who miss the early bird pre-registration can still register Race Day at Eden Medical Center from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Race Day fee is $35.00 for 5K/10K and $15 for Kids Dash (check or cash only -- fee includes t-shirt & Goodie Bag).
If registered online by July 6th, your bib number will be mailed to you. IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR BIB NUMBER MAILED TO YOU, BE SURE TO CHECK THE APPROPRIATE BOX ON THIS ENTRY! If you sign up after July 6th, or check the NO MAIL option, you can pick up your bib # race day at Eden Medical Center (20103 Lake Chabot Rd. in Castro Valley) from 6:30 – 7:45 a.m.
The Run To The Lake and Eden Medical Center makes the participant mailing list available to Finish Line Photographers and at rare times to major sponsors who help underwrite this event for special mailings we feel may be of interest to you. If you prefer that your name be omitted from that list, please check the appropriate box.

Your ability to participate in the event(s) is/are subject to your agreement to the waiver and by agreeing herein, you accept and agree to the terms of the waiver and release agreement.
In consideration of my entry and of my own free will, I for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators forever waive and release and give up any and all claims, demands, liability damages, costs and expenses of any kind whatsoever, including personal injuries to me or wrongful death, against Eden Medical Center, East Bay Regional Parks District, County of Alameda, State of California, California Highway Patrol, RhodyCo Productions, It's About Time/Buzzword Prod., subcontractors, sponsors and volunteers which may arise from my participation in the RUN TO THE LAKE event on Sunday, July 13, 2014 or while traveling to or from the event, even if caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of the parties or persons I am hereby releasing, by the dangerous or defective condition of any property or equipment owned, maintained or controlled by them and/or because of their liability without fault. I FULLY UNDERSTAND I AM FOREVER GIVING UP IN ADVANCE ANY RIGHT TO SUE OR MAKE ANY CLAIM AGAINST THE PARTIES I AM RELEASING IF I SUFFER SUCH INJURIES AND DAMAGES EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT KNOW WHAT OR HOW EXTENSIVE THOSE INJURIES AND DAMAGES MIGHT BE AND AM VOLUNTARILY ASSUMING THE RISK OF SUCH INJURIES AND DAMAGES. I will assume my own medical and emergency expenses in the event of an accident or other incapacity or injury resulting from or occurring in my participation. I grant full permission to any and all organizations which obtain photographs, motion pictures, videotapes, recording of any other record of the event to use them for any purpose whatsoever. As part of the waiver I acknowledge that I have read and understood all of the above. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR THIS RACE and that in the event the race is canceled due to adverse weather, natural disaster or for any other reason there will be no refund, transfer or rollover of my entry fee.
