ABOUT THE EVENT AND ITS BENEFICIARIES
The Wrigley Start Early Run spotlights efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect and raises money to support Prevent Child Abuse America and Voices for Illinois Children. Through an Illinois network of partners, Voices' promotes starting early to ensure that children are healthy and happy, ready to learn and eager to succeed by the time they enter kindergarten. Prevent Child Abuse America is the leading organization dedicated solely to preventing the abuse and neglect of our nation's children.
FEES
5K & 10K Chip-Timed Runs: $35 Pre-Event, NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION FOR CHIP-TIMED RUNNERS
5K & 10K Fun Runs: $30 Pre-Event, $35 Race Day
1 Mile Pledge Walk: $20 Pre-Event, $25 Race Day
Childrens' 5K Chip-Timed Run (9-14): $10 before event day, NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION FOR CHIP-TIMED RUNNERS
Childrens' 5K Fun Run (9-14): $10 before and on event day
Childrens' 5K Fun Run (8 and under): FREE before and on event day
Kids Dash: FREE if you pre-register and on event day
COURSE ROUTE
Participants will run on a USATF-certified course that will start on the Sidewalk of Columbus Drive, head south to Museum Campus, then north to the Chicago Yacht Club. Runners will then turn around and head south back to Museum Campus. 5K runners will head north at this point to finish this run while the 10K runners will continue along park paths and go almost as south as Soldier Field. They will then turn around north towards Museum Campus and follow park paths to the finish line on the sidewalk of Columbus Drive. The 1-Mile Pledge walk will also start on the sidewalk of Columbus Drive, but head north to Balbo, continue west on sidewalk of Balbo, head south on sidewalk of Michigan before jumping onto park paths that lead to Columbus and Roosevelt. Walkers will then follow the sidewalk of Columbus Drive to the finish line (same place that the runners finish). All paths are very scenic and allow participants to fully embrace the Chicago's beautiful skyline and lakeshore.

CHIP TIMING - 5K Run & 10K Run Events
Chrontrack Disposable Chips! Results will be collected using computerized chips, which brings a technologically advanced timing system - one that will ensure accurate results and faster reporting of those results. Chips will be adhered to your runner bib. You will then detach the chip on race day and attach it to your shoelaces.

**NO CHIP TIMED REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED ON RACE DAY. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CHIP AND A TIME.**

DRI-FIT SHIRTS for Chip-Timed 5K and 10K Participants!
All participants in the 5K/10K Chip-Timed and Fun Runs will receive a short sleeved event souvenir Dri-Fit shirt. Don't worry... Pledge Walkers won't go home empty handed - each participant of this event will receive the classic 100% long-sleeved cotton t-shirt.

KIDS DASH - FREE for all children under 10
A special run with all children at the event will take place at the Main Stage at 11:00am. Distances will vary based on age categories: 4 & under, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10. Every child who participates will receive a special prize.
AWARDS - Individual and Team
The special awards ceremony and post-race party featurning food, drink and posted results will start at approximately 11:15am following the FREE Kids Dash at 11:00am at the start line. Medals will be presented to the overall male and female winners of the 5K & 10K Chip-Timed Runs. The top three male and female age group winners of the 5K & 10K Chip-Timed Runs (14 and under to 65 and over) can claim their medals at the awards table next to the main stage.

Awards will be given to the first place corporate and open teams in overall timing as well as the corporate and open teams with the highest number of participants and the greatest amount of money raised.

I know that running and/or walking a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run or walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the course. I assume all risks associated with running and walking in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including low temperatures and/or wind chill, traffic and conditions of the road. All such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of this entry, I hereby for myself, heirs, executors, and administrators waive any and all claims I may have for damages against Chicago Running and Special Events Management Inc., dba Special Events Management, the City of Chicago, the Chicago Department of Transportation, Chicago Park District, Prevent Child Abuse America, Voices for Illinois Children, Wm Wrigley Jr Company, and all sponsors and individuals associated with the event, their representatives and successors, and assignees for any and all injuries suffered by me in connection with this event, including pre and post race activities. I hereby grant permission to CSEM, Prevent Child Abuse America, and Voices for Illinois Children and all the event's authorized agents to use my name, photographs, videotapes, motion pictures in connection with this event, including recording any other record of my participation in this event for any purpose. There will be a $30.00 fee for all returned checks. Sorry no refunds.
