Walk the Grand Floral Parade Route as spectators cheer you on!
Join us for the fifth annual Regence Grand Floral Walk, a two- or four-mile walk that travels the Portland Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade route in front of nearly 500,000 spectators on Grand Floral Parade day, Saturday, June 9. The Walk begins promptly at 9:30 a.m.

It’s Grand Floral Parade day, after all. What could be more appropriate than flowers? Walkers are encouraged to incorporate flowers into their attire and strollers for a chance to win great prizes!
During the month of April save $6 on a regular adult entry fee with the K103 Early Bird Special. You can register on-line at www.grandfloralwalk.org through midnight Thursday, June 7. A small transaction fee will be charged. Pick up your number and T-shirt at packet pick-up on event morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Will Call tent at the formation area at NW 2nd and Flanders.

Mail-in receipt deadline: June 1. Mail in entrants will pick up their walk number and T-shirt at packet pick-up on event morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Will Call tent at the formation area at NW 2nd and Flanders. Entry confirmation will be sent via e-mail to all accepted participants.
You will form in Northwest Portland at NW 2nd and Flanders and walk to the Memorial Coliseum to start the walk. The four-mile walk route is also the route of the 2012 Grand Floral Parade, leaving from the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. You can opt to do a two-mile portion of the course and exit and return to the formation area in northwest Portland. Please bring your own water bottle and other equipment to take you through a two- or four-mile walking event. There will be no water stations available on course.
PARADE FINISH AND VIEWING
Once you have completed the course, you will have a chance to view the 2012 Grand Floral Parade at a special Walk viewing section near the finish SW 12th and Taylor streets. Seating will be available on a first come, first served basis ONLY for walkers identified with a participant bib number.
Every participant will receive a souvenir walk t-shirt and other special items on walk morning.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Dougy Center in Portland. The Dougy Center provides a safe and supportive place for children, teens, young adults and their families who are grieving a death to share their stories. They provide education, training and peer support groups.
PACKET PICK-UP AND START LOCATION
All registrants are required to come to packet pick-up on event morning, Sat., June 9 at NW 2nd and Flanders to receive bib number, t-shirt and formation instructions. Packet pick-up will be open ONLY from 7:30 a.m. until 9:10 a.m. Once you have your packet you will be directed on how to move to the official starting area at the Memorial Coliseum.
WARM WEATHER ALERT AND WATER STATIONS
Be prepared for warm weather and high humidity. Pace yourself accordingly. Due to the nature of this walk route, water will be available at the start and finish areas, but NOT along the 4 mile route. You must plan on bringing your own water bottle to carry with you throughout the event.

Waiver and Release
Waiver & Release: I know that participating in a running or walking event, regardless of the distance, includes an element of risk. I understand that I should not enter in the 2012 Regence Grand Floral Walk, hereinafter “this event” and participate “this event” on June 9, 2012, unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of an event official relative to my ability to complete this event safely and I further agree that event officials may authorize necessary emergency treatment for me. I also understand that, although police will be present, both vehicle traffic and spectators may also be present along the course and I assume the risks of participating under such conditions. I further assume any and all other risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to, illness, traveling to and from the event, falls, contact with spectators or other participants, and the surface condition of the roads and sidewalks, all such risks being understood and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release and discharge all subsidiaries, affiliates, assigns, representatives and successors of the foregoing: The City of Portland, Hamilton Events, Inc., Portland Rose Festival Foundation, Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield, KPTV, officials, volunteers and any and all suppliers, agents, independent contractors, employees and any other personnel in any way assisting or connected with this event from any and all claims or liability of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of my participation in this event. I also understand and agree that any sponsor may subsequently use, for publicity or promotional purposes, my name or pictures of me participating in this event without liability or obligation to me. Entries cannot be accepted without a valid signature. Entries from minors will only be accepted with a parent or legal guardian’s signature.
